JOB TYPES: Full-time; MUST be a U.S. citizen.
 
KEY DUTIES:

• Write, commission and edit live blogs in various topics, including news, politics and pop culture events.
• React to breaking news.
• Scour multiple social media platforms for information and emerging trends around major news conversations.
• Assign and oversee all updates on Newsweek’s live blogs.
• Check facts and sources and ensure content is of the highest possible standard.
• Forward planning for future events.

 
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience working in a fast-paced news environment and managing live blogs.
• Experience in an editing role for a reputable organization.
• Familiarity covering breaking news and Internet trends.
• Experience with various social media platforms.
• Detailed knowledge of SEO.
• Capable of working to tight deadlines.

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Computer, Internet, and a home office set-up. Must be able to work flexible hours.
 
PAY: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
